The poster for 'Final Destination' uses many techniques and conventions that are associated with the horror genre. These include:

• The poster's title font uses serif, a standard features within the horror genre.
• The dominant central image includes several features that add a sinister effect. There is an image of a skull displayed which has connotations of death. There is shattered glass again symbolising danger. There is the top of a man's face, his eyes covered by shadows.
• Only muted colours, such as cold-blue tones and blacks, are used on the poster.
• The tagline is 'Rest In Pieces' another sign indicating danger/death.
• The release date is the only thin on the poster in a bright colour, written in blood-red, once again having dangerous connotations.
