Choosing which trailers to produce

I want to produce two trailers from different points in the films marketing campaign, so I am certain that I want to produce a teaser trailer and one out of a TV spot and a theatrical trailer.



My teaser trailer will come from the very early stages of the films marketing campaign and will withhold narrative detail from the audience. It may comprise of a single shot cut with taglines or a limited number of shots accompanied by voice over. I have yet to decide whether I will choose a TV spot or a theatrical trailer for my second production peace, and this will be largely dependent on the genre I choose to work in and my analysis of trailers in relation to that genre.



I have yet to decide on my chosen genre so for my next tasks I will analyse the conventions of film posters and websites by looking at a range of examples from a number of different genres.
