Poster conventions - My Sister's Keeper

The final poster I am analysing is from a melodrama and contains many typical conventions alongside two new ones.

My Sister's Keeper

• The title of the movie is the largest font on the page.
• The names of the stars are displayed at the top of the poster.
• There is a dominant central image of the main characters displayed in the centre of the poster.
• There is a billing block.
• There are production company logos.
• There is a reference to merchandise, there was a soundtrack available.
• There is a certificate.
• There is a web address.
• There is a specific release date.
• There is a reference to other films, at the top of the poster it reads, "from the director of the notebook".
• Reference to the films source material, since stating at the bottom of the poster "from the best selling novel".
