Theatrical trailers - introduction

Theatrical trailers appear relatively close to the film's release and are usually shown in cinemas in the weeks before the film comes out and more recently online. For large Hollywood movies, there are often several theatrical trailers released which help to build the hype ahead of the release of the movie. Unlike other types of trailers, theatrical trailers often contain far more narrative information and clear character development, often containing many of the most significant moments from the finished film. Typically, theatrical trailers are approximately two and a half minutes in length.
