TV spots - Introduction
TV spots are released much closer to the films premier - usually in the fortnight/week prior to the films release. This encourages audiences to see that film rather than a competitor, and to see it as soon as possible after the release date. As their name suggests, TV spots appear on television and are usually no longer than 30 seconds in length. Distribution companies marketing the film will often produce a number of TV spots, either focusing on different characters in the film, different themes or different plot points. Sometimes the TV spots are aimed at slightly different audiences.
