Poster billing analysis
I conducted analysis with the purpose to deconstruct the different segments that a billing block consists of in order to replicate it when I create my own. This is my analysis of films that belong to the horror genre, I've analysed the format of two different billing blocks.
The Little Stranger
- The billing block begins with the production companies that produced the film, "FOCUS FEATURES PATH AND FILM4 IN CONJUNCTION WITH INGENIOUS MEDIA".
- After the multiple different production companies on the first line, the second line begins with the director of the film, "A FILM BY LENNY ABRAHAMSON"
- Followed by the film title "THE LITTLE STRANGER".
- The cast are then listed directly after the film's title.
- We are then informed of a number of crew members involved in creating the film, "CASTING BY NINA GOLD", "MUSIC BY STEPHEN RENNICKS".
- We then have executive producers and co-producers, "CO-PRODUCER ANITA OVERLAND".
- This is followed by existing source material the film was based on, "BASED ON 'THE LITTLE STRANGER' BY SARAH WATERS".
- That is followed by "SCREENPLAY LUCINDA COXON"
- Finally, the last one is again the director "DIRECTED BY LENNY ABRAHAMS".
The Conjuring
- The billing block begins with the different production companies that produced the film on the first line, "NEW LINE CINEMA PRESENTS A SAFRANI COMPNAY/EVERGREEN MEDIA GROUP PRODUCTION".
- The second line begins with who the film is by, meaning the director, "A JAMES WAN FILM".
- This is immediately followed by the title of the film, "THE CONJURING".
- The title of the film is followed by the cast, the people starring in the film, "VERA FARMIGA PATRICK WILSON".
- This is followed by multiple different members of the film crew on the third line, "MUSIC BY JOSEPH BISHARA, EDITED BY KIRK MORRI, PRODUCTION DESIGNER JULIE BERGHOFF".
- The fourth line are both executive producers, "EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS WALTER HAMADA DAVE NEUSTADTER" and "WRITTEN BY CHAD HAYES".
- the final line are the producers, "PRODUCED BY TONY DEROSA-GRUND PETER SAFRAN", and finally the director again, "DIRECTED BY JAMES WAN".
