Website conventions - Aquaman
The website for Aquaman contains the following conventions, typical of movie websites.
- The first time the consumer enters the website, a recent trailer for the film pops up.
- Menu bar/navigation bar appearing at the top of the home page containing a number of links to other pages of the site such as videos, story, gallery, shop, a game fans can play and worldwide release dates.
- Social media links including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- A dominant central image featuring characters from the movie which takes up most of the home page.
- The title of the film in the same font that has been used on other elements of the marketing campaign such as the trailer and the poster.
- Reviews which suggest that the film has already been released.
- Production company logo.
- There is a release date, though because the film has already been released it says "now playing in theatres".
- Reference to format, "in imax real 3D".
- A button that allows you to buy tickets.
- Links to terms and conditions at the bottom of the home page.
- A link that enables you to share the site with others.
- The homepage also contains links to other films and characters created by the production company DC.
